Book is the favorite bookcase of architects and designers from all over the world… and we’re sure it will win you over too.
Conceived by Titti Fabiani in Milan in the late 60s, Book is not affected by the passage of time, because it still expresses today a free way of conceiving and composing a wall thanks to its ductility.
Modularity, color palette and sizes
Its modular system uses an elementary shape: the square. You can design a Book bookcase made of containers closed by glass doors, open or with drawers. You can choose a composition of squares in twos, threes, fours or six at a time.
You have the option to hang your Book on the wall and choose it from a very wide color palette. The light woods highlight its elegance and smoothness, a minimalism of great effect… but why not also design a multicolored Book bookcase? So as to fill the space with life force.
You can easily choose and follow your style thanks to all the Book modules and sizes available, what remains unchanged is the quality and refinement of the product, built in open-pore ash or with a closed-pore embossed finish. The doors are in solid wood, to make the bookcase last over time and each container has a rubber anti-dust stop.

When Achille Castiglioni saw it for the first time he stopped in front of Book, looked at it, opened it, moved away, looked at it again, ran his fingers over the opening grooves, complimented it and said… that he wanted it for his home! Who knows in which finish he chose it.
Woody Allen also chose the Book bookcase for the film “Manhattan” to furnish the protagonist’s home: a large wall of white Books… the most intellectual and Manhattan-style furniture one could have.
Since 2013 Book has been in the permanent collection of the Jan Van der Togt museum in Amsterdam. This confirms the legendary phrase written by Piera Peroni, the founder of Abitare, to present the Book bookcase for the first time: “Book, a bookcase for today, tomorrow and forever”.
