31 May Enchanting colors and shapes: it’s the M’Afrique collection by Moroso
In 2009 was born the M’Afrique collection by Moroso. A series of colorful furnishings suitable for outdoor environments, dedicated to Africa and entirely made in Dakar, Senegal.
“The Africa of cultural richness and modernity deserves to be known and supported for the originality of its creative languages, which enrich our global cultural heritage,” says Patrizia Moroso, the art director of Moroso. “The African continent is exceptionally rich in forms of expression, materials and ideas. These are a source of inspiration and stimulation for us and, applied to design, they generate products that communicate tradition and modernity, innovation and history, form and beauty”.
We find chairs, armchairs, sofas, chaise longues, coffee tables and stools, with bright colors and with geometric and rhythmical plots and ribbons, handmade by Senegalese craftsmen using the same technique used to create fishing nets, for this reason each product is a unique piece.
There are many designers who took part in the birth and implementation of the Moros M’afrique collection. Among the main ones are Tord Boontje, Patricia Urquiola, Ayse Birsel & Bibi Seck and Dominique Petot. Discover all M’Afrique products in our online store!
