Soda: the sculpture coffee table in blown glass

The designer Yiannis Ghicas designed a pair of coffee tables and imagined them in blown Murano glass.

Who made them? And who if not the Venetian contemporary furniture company Miniforms ?!

These Murano glass coffee tables are called Soda and are born in the furnace, just like the classic glass blown upside down by the few glass masters who still know this art.

Soda is a single volume of blown glass, where three petals act as the stem and lift the round top of the table. Two versions are available, one in amber and one in petrol green color. They are also created in two dimensions, one lower but with a larger diameter and one higher but with a smaller diameter.

What makes Soda coffee tables wonderful is that they show primitively blown glass, with a hard, hammered glass skin that vibrates the transparency of the material. The geometry of the table also allows you to play with lights and shadows, varying the perception of the object. From a certain angle, in fact, you can see darker areas, born from the superimposition of various layers of glass. This is the artistic value granted to the industrial product.
