16 Sep Supersalone 2021: the news and proposals of our brands
This September, after two years of waiting due to the Covid 19 health emergency, the special edition of the Salone del Mobile, the Supersalone 2021, was held. International design companies proposed their new furniture products, or showed new versions and implementations of collections and furnishings.
Our visit to this Supersalone focused, as always, on contemporary Italian design, passing through the best brands such as Moroso, Gervasoni, Lago and Kartell. We observed new materials, new colors, new products and above all a lot of attention to the search for new resources used to make the furniture as sustainable as possible and less impacting on the environment.
Gervasoni News
Let’s start with our selection of new proposals and products seen at the Salone with Gervasoni, which exhibited its flagship product of the Ghost collection, the sofa that dresses and undresses in a simple gesture, with a new range of softer and more enveloping fabrics. Furthermore, this upholstery collection, launched under the title Ghost Goes Green, will now be made with certified materials, coming from renewable sources, recycled and recyclable. Each element can also be completely disassembled for effective recycling, confirming the company’s commitment to safeguarding the planet in all phases of construction.
Moroso News
The guru company of Made in Italy upholstery products, Moroso, presents its new Nanà collection, with upholstered furniture such as sofas, low modular mattresses and Moroccan-inspired coffee tables, with extraordinary color options and fabrics of linen, cotton or velvet or printed. The company also presents the “Secret Cubic Shelves” geometric bookcase, made up of rhomboidal shelves made of recycled and recyclable iron, painted with non-toxic powder. The product is solid and durable and this, together with the short supply chain for its realization, guarantees a reduced waste of resources, raw materials and energy and, consequently, a lower environmental impact.
Magis News
Let’s now pass to Magis which, in its space at Supersalone 2021, presented Costume, the modular sofa with a structure made of recycled and recyclable polyethylene. The fabric is easily removable thanks to the elastic rings attached to the base. The sofa is made up of simple units that can be configured with or without armrests and in different ways, based on what type of use and configuration you want to give the sofa.
Lago News
Lago design continues to experiment with Living proposals through the particular X glass back printed finish. To complement the sideboards, dressers and TV cabinets, there are new consoles and sideboards, the Air table and the coffee tables with the top in this special finish with a marble effect. The extra-clear tempered glass, the symbolic material of the Lago design company, is also available in a smoked gray version, to make the products more elegant and enveloping. Soft padding for the Air sofas and two new tables with glass top and massive metal bases have been added to their catalog.
Miniforms News
Miniforms presents four products in its stand that create a truly original complete living room. They choose to show an armchair, Botera, soft as a cloud with the backrest. This armchair is perfect, if single, at home or it can become an element that stimulates sharing in public spaces if made up of several elements placed side by side. Together with Botera there was also the Furoshiki pouf whose sartorial seams divide the design object into precise parts. Miniforms also presented Ozz on the wall, a lamp that furnishes the dining room or your Home Office with elegance and refinement. Finally Soda, the Venetian blown glass coffee table where three petals act as the stem and lift the table top. The glass has a hammered effect to create a sort of vibration of transparency, an artistic note for this industrial design product.
Kartell News
Kartell presents a wide range of new products, the result of collaborations with the most important international furniture designers, such as Patricia Urquiola and Philippe Starck. A real revolution is taking place in Kartell which aims at a coordinated Living world. Upholstered as sofas, armchairs and armchairs, they interact with coffee tables, desks and lamps. The design products created are complementary pieces. Kartell pays particular attention to the home office, office or contract world, offering smart and at the same time comfortable solutions. The company’s intention to limit the environmental impact with the creation of recycled and recyclable products, to offer sustainable living, also stands out. The range of furnishings in which wood is the protagonist in all its lightness is also expanded.
